Connecting your Gmail account using Google OAuth is the primary and recommended way to link your email with TrulyInbox. This method allows you to securely authorize access without sharing passwords and ensures full compliance with Google’s security standards.
Google OAuth is designed to be both safer and easier, especially for teams using Google Workspace.
Google OAuth is a secure authorization framework that allows third-party applications like TrulyInbox to access Gmail accounts without storing or seeing your password. Instead of login credentials, Google issues a secure access token that can be revoked at any time.
This approach is widely used across modern SaaS tools and is the standard recommended by Google for application access.
Google OAuth significantly reduces security risks associated with traditional email connections. Since no passwords or app passwords are used, there is no risk of credential leaks or mismanagement.
OAuth also provides:
Controlled access directly managed by Google
The ability to revoke access instantly from the Google Admin panel
Better compliance with Google Workspace security policies
For these reasons, Google OAuth is the safest and most reliable way to connect Gmail accounts to TrulyInbox.
Great news for Google Workspace users, you can connect email accounts even more easily using your Google Workspace Admin panel. This method allows you to authorize multiple accounts at once and eliminates the need to create or manage app passwords.
Using the Admin panel also ensures that access permissions are centrally managed and fully visible to your organization.
By connecting through the Google Workspace Admin panel, you can authorize all relevant mailboxes in a single flow. There’s no need to repeat setup steps for each account or worry about password-related issues.
This method also improves security by relying entirely on Google’s OAuth framework, reducing the chance of misconfiguration or access errors.
